Kate Hudson: In a happy, healthy place

KATE HUDSON

Healthy by Together sat down with Kate Hudson to ask her about her recent book about how to keep a healthy body.

Kate Hudson has always been a woman of irrepressible spirit and energy, much like her famous actress-mother Goldie Hawn. Best known for her breakthrough performance in Almost Famous and crowd-pleasing roles in You, Me and Dupree and How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, Hudson faded from the limelight, making it her priority to look after the happiness and wellbeing of her children.

“There has never been a conflict in my thinking about how to balance my life with my children and my career,” Hudson said. “My kids are my greatest love and joy in my life, and my work has always been secondary to that. I love acting but for me everything revolves around my life with my family and my friends.”

Apart from her film career, the 36-year-old Hudson has just published her first book, Pretty Happy: Healthy Ways to Love Your Body, a self-help guide that deals with various issues facing women.  A longtime health and fitness fanatic, Hudson believes that she’s “in the best shape of her life, in every sense” these days, and in person she looks fabulously radiant and youthful-looking.

She has started to work more often now, and we asked her how she is enjoying the double life of being a working single mother. Her answer: “I’m in one of the best places I’ve ever been in my life. I feel finally at peace with myself. I like having fun and I also like being cosy at home.”

So was it this that inspired her to write the book, Pretty Happy: Healthy Ways to Love Your Body?
