Advice for airline passengers in wake of Middle East crisis

254

The ongoing war in the Middle East continues to have serious ripple effects for the airline industry.

Following the partial reopening of regional airspace, one leading airline – Emirates – says it is operating a reduced flight schedule.

A spokesman for the airline says it continues to monitor the situation and will develop its operational schedule accordingly.

“We would like to thank passengers for their understanding and patience,” said the spokesman.

“The safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority and will not be compromised.”

Before you travel

Passengers have been given advice by the airline before they travel.

The spokesman told this site, “We ask that they please continue to check their flight status, even after they have checked in. Passengers can also review the latest operational updates on emirates.com. Make sure that their details are up to date to receive notifications and check your email for changes or cancellations to your flights before travelling to the airport.”

What to do if your flight is affected

If you booked for travel between 28 February until and including 15 April 2026, you have the following options depending on your circumstances.

If your flight has been disrupted and rebooked

If your travel plans have been affected, we’ll do our best to rebook you on the next available Emirates flight. This applies to most disrupted tickets, including journeys connecting beyond Dubai.

  • You can review and manage your booking online through “Manage your booking” on emirates.com and in the Emirates App.
  • If you want to continue with the new flight, no additional actions are required from you.
  • If you prefer to change your flight, you may be able to choose another available flight on Manage Your Booking or in the Emirates App, or contact us or your travel agent for support.

Connecting flights

If you have a connecting flight in Dubai and any of your flights on the journey are cancelled, please do not come to the airport. You will not be able to board at your point of origin.

Please rebook your flights before coming to the airport.

Rebook on an alternative flight

To make changes to your booking, even if your flight has not been disrupted, you can rebook on another flight for travel on or before 31 May.

You can make changes on Manage Your Booking or on the Emirates App if your original travel date is within the next 72 hours. If you’re unable to make changes online, contact Emirates. If you booked with a travel agent, contact them.

If you rebook your flight, check any services you may have booked, including seat selection and dietary meals, and update your Chauffeur‑drive details in Manage Your Booking for your new flight.

Request a refund

If you booked with Emirates directly, you can request a refund of your ticket by completing the refund form.If you booked your flights with a travel agent, you should contact them.

  • Review any changes made to your booking

If you’re unable to make changes online
