Brussels’ annual Eat Festival will take place later this month (September 26 to 29) at the Gare Maritime de Tour & Taxis.
For the 2024 edition, Eat Festival has reinvented its concept by offering an accessible and hassle-free gastronomic experience, in the form of 3 or 5 course menus.
Every day, two teams of Brussels and pastry chefs and cheese makers concoct exclusive and original menus: either two dishes followed by a dessert, or three dishes accompanied by a cheese plate and dessert.
The menus are carefully associated with Vins de Bordeaux, a long-time partner of the festival, and BXLBeerFest, which will be held at the same time at Tour & Taxis.
This new version of the event aims to support the catering sector and allow local talents to shine as well as helping people discover and appreciate the culinary richness of Brussels.
In collaboration with the Federation of Belgian Cheesemakers, a new edition of the national Premier Fromager competition promises to be another highlight of the festival along with a competition for the best shrimp croquette in the capital.
Last year, the winner were William Horlait and Brasseries Georges.
A spokesman told this site: “This edition of the festival is a bit special. It marks 10 years of collaboration with Bordeaux Wines. Masalto, another loyal partner of the festival, will offer coffee workshops and visitors can enjoy a musical program hosted by Brussels DJs and discover a farmers’ market where 20 artisans will be present every day.”
“This year, the festival is also strengthening its sustainable commitment by switching to reusable tableware, eliminating as much waste as possible. Visitors will be able to enjoy their meals in a welcoming and comfortable setting, such as in the restaurant, with seating areas for everyone.”
