BOZAR EXPO’s Summer of Photography biennial returns this year for its fifth instalment. Every two years, BOZAR EXPO and 35 partnering institutions throughout the city organise an exhibition of photography and related media. This year’s exhibition features over eighty-five artists, each showcasing works focused on gender relations and the ever-changing debate surrounding the topic. The main exhibition, WOMAN. The Feminist Avant-Garde of the 1970s. Works from the SAMMLUNG VERBUND, Vienna, comprises 450 works by 29 female photographers, including Cindy Sherman and Belgian artist Lili Dujourie.

The Summer of Photography opens with a symposium, debates, screenings and performances at the Centre for Fine Arts on 17 June. Until 31 August. More information, including exhibition details, dates and locations, is available at www.summerofphotography.be.
