All Day
Looking for a summer’s night out with a bit of a difference?
If you are, then you’d do well to pop down to Namur where a newly created Big Top at the city’s famous Citadelle is packing them in.
But this is a Big Top with a difference because, instead of performing animals and clowns, this one is playing host to an innovative new play set to music.
Les Baladins du Miroir tells the story of a circus boss who finds himself facing demands by his son that he ‘moves with the times’, in particular, by including movies as part of the show.
The play is particularly timely as it is set a backdrop of the start of the Great War. It also tells the tale of the never ending generational conflict between father and son.
The 90 minute performance, including a 20 minute interval, is especially enjoyable for the lovely music and all takes place on the splendid Esplanade of the Citadelle, overlooking Namur.
It is on daily at 8.30pm (4pm on Sunday) and continues until 17 August. Ticket prices range from €14 for children and €20 for adults.
Beware! The play is proving very popular so booking is advised.
