The circus is coming to town – to one of the most historic settings in Brabant Wallonia.
More than 100 circus performers will perform later this month amidst the exceptional setting of the ruins of Villers La Ville, near Louvain-la-Neuve.
Just imagine – clowns, acrobats and other Big Top artists will strut their stuff at a place once frequented by monks of the Cistercian Order.
The majestic ruins of the Abbey, founded in the 12th Century, will be transformed for one night for Les Nuits du Cirque.
Through the abbey’s ancient nooks and crannies you’ll be able to dazzle at Cirque artists, including jugglers, trapeze artists and magicians, all specially selected for the occasion.
The circus is big in Belgium but if you’re among those who thought the tradition was old hat think again – this version will not disappoint.
Les Nuits du Cirque makes for what promises to be quite a summer spectacle but be warned: it is expected to sell out fast so you are advised to book early.
Tickets, priced from €27 to €32 for adults and €17 to €22 for children aged three to 12, are available by visiting www.070.be or calling 02 376 7676 or 070 222 007.
The show takes place on 31 May at 5pm and 11pm.
