Love will descend on a famous Brussels museum later this month.
For its 16th edition, there are once again more than 300 “Love Bugs”, namely Volkswagen Beetles and Beetles, as well as around 20 Transporters T1, T2 and T3,that will gather at Autoworld.
A nod to Valentine’s Day, the celebration of lovers, in connection with the film “Herbie, a Ladybug’s Love”,
The Love Bugs Parade attracts participants from all parts of Belgium plus cars registered in the Netherlands, France and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Organized by Volkswagen and Autoworld, this edition is under the theme of 60 years of the Belgian VW Club. Expect, therefore, to see cars decorated in the colous of the year 1965 and some of their passengers dressed as in the era.
The cars begin to arrive from 10am on 16 February on the Cinquantenaire esplanade in front of the Autoworld museum, but it is between noon and 2pm (start time) that the atmosphere is at its peak.
It is then that the public can experience the atmosphere that enlivens the Esplanade.
At 2pm the start is sounded, releasing the cars to a concert of horns and cheers. The convoy then heads along avenue de Tervueren towards the Africa museum, then, through the small towns of Vossem, Overijse , Tombeek, towards Rosières where just after the bridge under the E411, a team from the Belgian VW Club awaits them with a surprise.
They than head towards Lake Genval and a return to Autoworld via Boitsfort, Boulevard du Souverain and Avenue de Tervueren.
The return is planned from 3.50 pm and all participants are invited to a reunion snack.Everyone is welcome on the Esplanade du Cinquantenaire to admire the cars.
