The month of December is at the starting line at Autoworld in Brussels and, with it, the final stretch of the year.
Until 14 December, people can visit the exhibition ‘German Tuners from the ’80s & ’90s’. After that, the cars will be reloaded for their return to Germany. Along the way, the trucks will cross other convoys heading to Autoworld, carrying some very special models directly from the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.
So, mark 19 December in your calendar, because on that evening you will be able to visit the exhibition for a sneak preview.
The Museum’s Preview Night of ‘Mercedes – The Story of the Star’ promises an exceptional and festive evening, entirely in the end-of-year theme. Expect live engine starts, live music, winter food stands, and many surprising animations among the iconic Mercedes.
A spokesman told this site, “It is a unique opportunity to discover the exhibition in advance and celebrate the end of the year together.
“We have already had the pleasure of welcoming many visitors for this popular theme, and the enthusiastic reactions confirm that this exhibition is truly enjoyed. …A real success, full of German power and character.”
The Museum wants to highlight these “exceptional” models :
1992 SCHULZ BIGFOOT
Perhaps the most flamboyant creation from Schulz Tuning: a Mercedes W124 coupe mounted on a G-Class chassis. It was specially designed for a sheikh’s hunting trips, to rescue falcons that had escaped the freezing desert cold. Some of these birds were worth more than the car itself.
SCHULZ MERCEDES W126 PULLMANN – 1987
This stretched Mercedes ‘S’ is pure excess: it measures nearly 7 meters and offers every imaginable luxury. It was built by Schulz Tuning, one of the most prolific Mercedes specialists, who, in addition to this type of limousine, has also created 6-wheeled G-Classes and even a ‘Golf clone.”
For the occasion of our Mercedes exhibition, Museumpass, in collaboration with Autoworld, is also launching a limited edition Museumpass, featuring a beautiful photo of a Mercedes 300 SL “Gullwing” on the cover.
This edition is exclusively available at Autoworld from 19 December and in limited quantity.
