It is that time of year again, Halloween, and you might be wondering if there’s anything different to do this time.
Well, if so, you might be interested to learn of the ghostly goings at Domain of the Caves of Han.
It has lined up no less than 16 days of festivities designed to please young and old alike.
For those unfamiliar with it, the Caves of Han-sur-Lesse is a natural complex of caves and a long time major Belgian tourist attraction.
The caves are located in Wallonia, on the outskirts of the village of Han-sur-Lesse.
The caves were formed as the result of an underground erosion of a limestone hill by the river Lesse.
Though modern exploration of the complex began in 1771, the caves have been known to locals for much longer. Bronze Age and Stone Age relics have been found inside, indicating use from at least the 5th century BC.
The cave has been voted the Walloons’ favourite tourist heritage site.
From October 19 to November 3 the classic visits to its famous animal park and cave will be slightly disrupted to allow for some special Halloween treats.
Artists from varied disciplines, including acrobatic dancers, jugglers and stilt walkers will be on hand to add a Halloween theme to your visit here.
There will be special animal feedings, every day until next month throughout the animal park’s walking trail while the mischievous trolls are back in the Cave of Han with a few surprises in store.
From October 29 to 31, visitors can also take a moonlit stroll in the park.
As ever, there’ll be everything from wolves and bears to lynx, deer and bison to keep visited occupied in the park.
A spokesman said, “There promises to be something for everyone and we have added a Halloween theme to the normal activities here.”
