Flexible, high-quality French courses for adults — in Brussels, in Louvain-la-Neuve, or online via Visio.
If you live in Belgium, French isn’t just a “nice-to-have”. It’s part of everyday life: small talk with neighbours, admin appointments, workplace meetings, cultural outings — and that deeper feeling of truly belonging.
The good news? Learning French in Belgium is a unique advantage. You’re surrounded by real-life situations that naturally accelerate progress… as long as your course helps you speak and use the language, not just study it.
That’s exactly the philosophy at CLL Language Centres. Our French courses for adults are designed to be practical, interactive and confidence-building — whether you choose face-to-face classes in one of our centres, or online with our Visio courses.
A serious method that gets you speaking
Many adult learners share the same frustration:
“I understand a lot… but I freeze when I have to speak.”
That’s why CLL focuses on an oral, communicative and interactive approach from the start. You learn to speak in real-life situations, with guidance and feedback that helps you build reflexes, structure your sentences, and gain confidence quickly.
You also benefit from an adult-friendly learning environment: a welcoming atmosphere, clear objectives, and formats built around your daily constraints.
In-centre or online: choose what fits your life
Not everyone learns the same way — or has the same schedule. With CLL, you can take French courses:
- face-to-face, in our centres in Brussels and Louvain-la-Neuve
- online, through CLL Visio, a platform developed specifically for language training
Online doesn’t mean “less interactive”. CLL’s Visio group courses are built for small groups (typically 4 to 7 participants), so you still get real speaking time, corrections and active participation.
Two centres, one quality approach: Brussels and Louvain-la-Neuve
CLL Brussels (Woluwe) is located on the UCLouvain campus, easily accessible by metro. It offers a strong learning environment, with many classrooms and comfortable facilities.
CLL Louvain-la-Neuve is set in the heart of the UCLouvain campus, in a vibrant pedestrian university town about 30 minutes from Brussels — ideal if you live nearby or simply want a calmer, student-friendly atmosphere.
Same quality, same teaching philosophy — two great ways to learn, depending on your routine and what feels right for you.
ENGAGE, BOOST, INTENSIVE: choose your rhythm
One of the biggest reasons adults stop learning a language is simple: the format didn’t match their pace.
CLL offers structured group formats that make it easier to stay consistent:
- ENGAGE: once a week — steady progress without pressure
- BOOST: twice a week — faster progress while staying manageable
- INTENSIVE: five times a week — for rapid momentum and maximum immersion
Group courses are typically organised as 30-hour programmes (with specific Visio formats available).
Conversation Clubs: speak more, hesitate less
If your main goal is fluency, nothing beats regular speaking practice.
CLL Conversation Clubs are built for exactly that: you practise French in a natural way, develop listening and speaking skills, expand vocabulary, and improve pronunciation — in a relaxed, guided setting.
These clubs run as ten 90-minute sessions, at lunchtime or in the evening, face-to-face or online. Ideal if you already have some basics and want to unlock real conversation.
Prefer something fully tailored? Individual and “à la carte” options
Some learners want a fully personalised programme: professional situations, a specific objective, or a very precise schedule.
- Individual courses (face-to-face or Visio) let you build a programme around your goals, with an expert trainer focusing on your priorities.
- “À la carte” group courses allow 2 to 8 people of a similar level to co-design the programme with a CLL trainer — perfect for colleagues, friends, or a small team.

Start at the right level for faster progress
Progress is faster — and much more motivating — when you start in the right group. That’s why CLL offers a free French level test aligned with CEFR levels, so you can choose a course that matches your current ability and your goals.
