Entitled “Winner Sport”, the new range of dynamic driving shoes has been co-designed by Aston Martin and John Lobb. The sleek aerodynamic shoe carries finely tuned detailing which reflects both the world of the automobile and the style philosophy of the UK’s world famous shoe manufacturer. The result is a shoe which embodies the style, craftsmanship and quality for which both brands are celebrated the world over.
The inspiration for the shoe came from chief executive officer of John Lobb, Renaud Paul-Dauphin, who courted Aston Martin for two years with his idea for an Aston Martin inspired performance shoe.
“It was very much a personal ambition of mine to produce a casual shoe which reflected the spirit and design qualities of Aston Martin. When I finally got to present my concept to the company, they saw the synergy between the two high-end brands. John Lobb was invited to join the select group of Aston Martin partners in a long and fruitful relationship.”
“Most beautiful car in the world”
At the design stage every effort has been made to reflect the design qualities of what many – including Top Gear – believe is the most beautiful car in the world in the shoe.
A feature of the shoe is a beautiful line along the side which reflects movement. This is aligned to the body form and stitch lines on the interior of the Aston Martin. The shoe is made from full grain skins and features double rows of beautiful stitching, a signature of John Lobb.
The Winner Sport range is created with a specially engineered bonded rubber sole that wraps beneath the shoe giving a sleek line and a sporty feel.
The driving shoe is available in choice of eight colours, ranging from Saddle Tan, to Frost White and Graphite Grey. The sole is offered in either the ‘Sporty Stratos White’ sole or the ‘Racy Fire Red’ version.
The Design Director of Aston Martin, Marek Reichnman says that “One of the most important elements of Aston Martin design is the dynamic tension that the cars have and which we put into every single surface. You can see that tension equally reflected in this beautiful produce jointly developed with John Lobb. “
The Winner One lightweight driving shoe range is available through John Lobb stores worldwide and in Belgium exclusively from Degand Shoes (La Maision Degand) in Avenue Louise, Brussels.
