The Brosella Spring Festival will return from March 20 to 22 at the iconic cultural venue LaVallée in Brussels’ Molenbeek Canal Zone.
Building on the success of previous editions, this year’s festival will feature an exciting program that highlights the diversity of the Belgian jazz scene.
The festival will showcase a wide range of performances, including album release concerts by singer Helena Casella, pianist Eve Beuvens with Lysis, bassist Louise Van den Heuvel with Sonic Hug, and solo pianist Casimir Liberski.
The line-up also includes innovative new projects such as the This is the Omen EP release party, Julie Rains, Blind IO (featuring Bram De Looze, Teun Verbruggen, Ikue Mori, and Ingrid Laubrock), and Donder in het donker, an immersive musical experience performed entirely in darkness.
A special surprise act from Brussels will also be revealed closer to the event.
A major highlight this year is the return of BXL x LDN Interplay II, a collaboration between Tomorrow’s Warriors (UK) and the Brosella Festival. Following the success of the first edition, which featured young Belgian musicians paired with London-based artists, this second edition will introduce six emerging talents, mentored by Chantal Acda.
Their debut concert will follow a threeday residency at VOLTA, promising a unique and memorable performance. Brosella Festival Director Bert Schreurs comments: “The Brosella Spring Festival offers an intimate alternative to our summer edition near the Atomium.
“With a limited capacity, the festival fosters a closer connection between the audience and the performers. We’ve chosen two indoor stages with small ensembles, aiming for a maximum of 300 attendees per evening. This allows us to present a curated selection of 10 bands that truly represent the vibrant Belgian jazz scene.”
