Travel: Qatar’s Free Trips For Healthcare Workers

Travel: Qatar Airways offers free flights for healthcare professionals. 

Qatar Airways is going to offer 100,000 free tickets* to the healthcare professionals who have been working on the front line during this pandemic and who have been heroically working alongside their patients every day.

The company were praised and thanked by customers and governments for having maintained their operations 24/7 these lasts months to repatriate over 1 million people on more than a 100 charter flights. In turn, the company wishes to recognize the exemplary work of the entire medical body and reward the health professionals around the world who are fighting on the front line against COVID-19.

An exceptional operation will be launched tomorrow, in time for International Nurse Day which will last until 18 May at 11.59pm (Doha time). The first 100,000 health professionals which sign up will receive a promotional code allowing them to book two free return flights* in Economy class on flights operated by Qatar Airways to their favourite destination. They will be able to travel with the person of their choice.

Enrolment requirements and reservation: Health professionals around the world are eligible to sign up to this limited offer for the first 100,000 applicants. To ensure the process is fair and transparent, each country will receive a daily allocation of flight tickets, according to the size of their population, staggered over the operation period, in other words over a period of 7 days between 12 and 18 May 2020. The daily allocation will be released at 1am (Doha time) during the entire campaign. The tickets will then have to be booked before 26 November, for journeys until the 10 December 2020. The tickets will be flexible, with an unlimited number of modifications regarding the destination and the dates, free of  charge. Only airport taxes will be at the expense of the travellers. *

Furthermore, the health professionals will also benefit from an additional reduction coupon of 35% valid until the 31 December 2020, to be exchanged in the points of sale of Qatar Duty Free, located at the hub of the airline company at the international airport of Hamad (HIA) in Doha. **

Qatar Airways has recently announced that they have begun a progressive reconstruction of their network in regard to the evolution of demand from clients and the easing of border controls. Their objective is to serve 52 destinations by the end of May and 80 destinations in June.

*This offer is only available for the flights operated by Qatar Airways. The health professionals who are eligible are: doctors, general practitioners, nurses, Ambulance workers, laboratory technicians, clinical researchers, hospital pharmacists.
