Paris motoring returns to the spotlight this week as the Mondial de l’Auto welcomes visitors to Porte de Versailles. The public dates are 13–18 October 2026: Monday 12 October is reserved exclusively for the press.
Give yourself a reason to go
A motor show can be a design outing, a technology lesson or the beginning of a serious purchase decision. Decide which matters most before choosing your route through the halls.
If you are comparing cars, take the questions you would ask at a dealership. Can you see clearly from the driving position? Are the everyday controls easy to use? Will passengers and luggage fit without a compromise you will regret?
Look beyond the stand
The organiser has announced a test-drive centre with around 90 models from 20 brands, including electric and hybrid vehicles. More than 5,000 test-drive slots are planned, subject to booking and availability.
The published instructions direct visitors to the relevant brand’s stand to arrange an appointment. QR codes in the halls can be used to pre-book, but that reservation must be confirmed at the stand.
Treat a possible drive as an addition to the visit, rather than a guaranteed part of an admission ticket. Read the conditions for the particular experience before making it the centre of your day.
Notice the details that make daily life easier
Spectacular lighting and polished bodywork are part of the theatre. The more useful discoveries may be quieter: the position of a charging port, the shape of a boot opening or how easily a menu can be understood.
For an electric model, ask about charging in the circumstances you actually expect to use. A conversation based on your home, usual journeys and access to charging is more useful than a headline figure on its own.
Choose your visiting window
The official schedule includes late openings on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October, with the show open until 22:00. The final Sunday closes at 18:30.
Buy through the official ticketing page and check the admission conditions for your chosen day. A thoughtful visit need not cover every stand; it should leave you with a clearer view of the cars that interest you.
