Ibilaw brings Halloween nightmares to Walibi Belgium

11

Halloween takes a darker turn at Walibi Belgium, where Ibilaw has returned to transform the theme park into a realm of monsters, haunted houses and unsettling encounters. Running until 11 November, this year’s edition invites thrill-seekers to step into the nightmarish world of Bill, with new experiences, terrifying attractions and extended opening hours on selected dates.

For those who enjoy their entertainment with a healthy dose of adrenaline, Ibilaw offers a Halloween outing that goes well beyond the traditional pumpkin and costume. As darkness falls, familiar park pathways take on a sinister atmosphere, haunted houses conceal disturbing secrets and creatures emerge from the shadows. The question is no longer whether you will get a fright, but how much you can handle.

Four haunted houses, countless nightmares

At the heart of Ibilaw are four haunted houses, each with its own unsettling story. The newest addition, The Grand Hotel, welcomes visitors into a seemingly elegant 1930s palace. Behind its refined façade, however, Bill has prepared a stay that guests are unlikely to forget. The promise of impeccable service quickly gives way to something far more sinister.

Elsewhere, Aquarium explores an abandoned attraction once famous for its rare and fascinating creatures, now shrouded in dark rumours. Silence takes visitors into a school marked by mysterious disappearances, while Mine Blast plunges them into a narrow mine where the dead have returned and escape is anything but guaranteed.

Each experience offers a different kind of fear, from eerie suspense to claustrophobic encounters. Those brave enough to enter should be prepared for surprises around every corner.

Four horror zones to explore

The terror continues beyond the haunted houses, with four themed zones spread throughout the park. In Hecatomb, a mysterious jungle tribe gathers to honour the mythical creature it both worships and fears. The ceremony, however, demands a sacrifice.

Arachnophobia immerses visitors in a world of unsettling creatures, while Innocence reveals the disturbing childhood of Bill, transforming the familiar imagery of childhood into something much more sinister. Meanwhile, Psycho Circus invites visitors to its final season of madness and nightmares before the sinister circus closes its doors for good.

With different atmospheres and stories to discover, the horror zones encourage visitors to explore the park after dark, never quite knowing what might be waiting ahead.

Meet Bill in a dark fairy tale

One of this year’s central experiences is Bill: A Fairy Tale, a show that delves into the origins of the park’s sinister figure. The story begins with a child drawn into a mirror and condemned to wander through an empty park, eventually becoming a shadow consumed by fear. Visitors are invited to cross into his story themselves, discovering a darker side to the character who rules over Ibilaw.

As night falls, Bill also makes his presence felt throughout the park, accompanied by his most fearsome creatures. His appearance adds another layer to the experience, bringing the event’s dark fantasy to life.

For a different kind of fright, the Freaky Pizza Festival offers a culinary experience where the delicious meets the disturbing. It is an unusual way to take a break from the scares without leaving the Halloween atmosphere behind.

Stay until the last scream

On selected dates, Walibi Belgium extends the Halloween experience until 22:00, giving visitors more time to explore the attractions and experience the park in darkness. The remaining extended evenings are 24, 25, 29, 30 and 31 October, as well as 1, 2, 7 and 11 November. These dates are particularly worth considering for those who want to experience the event after sunset.

Tickets start at €57 for a standard Halloween ticket, rising to €61 on extended-opening days. Children’s Halloween tickets cost €47 or €51, depending on the opening schedule. Additional paid options are available for selected haunted houses and priority access to rides, making it possible to tailor the visit to individual preferences.

Whether you are planning a Halloween outing with friends, looking for a memorable family adventure or simply eager to test your nerves, Ibilaw promises a distinctly darker side to one of Belgium’s best-known theme parks.

The event runs until 11 November 2026 at Walibi Belgium in Wavre. Tickets and further information are available at walibi.be/halloween-walibi.
