The Czech Republic double team of Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek beat the Belgians Olivier Rochus and Steve Darcis 7-6 , 6-0, 6-3 to give the central Europeans a winning rubber of 3-0 matches in the Davis Cup quarters.
The Belgium doubles team found the Czechs as difficult as their single players including Rochus and former world number 20 player Xavier Malisse who had not been able to win a single set over the first two days of the competition.
On Saturday the Czechs decided not to play the inexperienced pair Lukas Dlouhy and Jan Hajek and chose the more senior Berdych and Stepanek to ensure a white wash in the rubber.
The Czechs will now wait to find out who they will meet out of either Chile or Israel in the quarter-finals to be played in July.
