At a time when salaries and bonuses for top managers have created controversy throughout the world, a Chinese businessman has made a fine gesture.

The CEO of Lenovo, Yang Yuanqing, will distribute at least €2.5 million ($3.25 million) of his bonus to 10,000 workers in the company, the computer maker announced Monday. Lenovo’s boss wants to thank the staff for their good work. Lenovo, which recorded a turnover of €25.7 billion ($34 billion), is one of the largest computer manufacturers in the world.

In 2012, Yang Yuanqing distributed €2.3 million ($3 million) in bonuses to the company’s staff.

Each employee of the company will receive a small bonus of around €250 ($325). In China, where 85% of Lenovo’s workers are located, that’s comparable to almost one month’s salary.
