Together magazine is Brussels-based and proud to be so. We would like to extend our sincere condolences to all who suffered this morning from those terrible acts of violence. We were all deeply saddened as the toll of victims rose and shocking images appeared in the press.
Facebook has many critics but today it came to the aid of those trying to make sure that their friends were Ok. The ‘Brussels Explosions’ page allowed Facebook friends to add their name to a list of people marked ‘safe’.
And that remains the watchword in the city. The kind of solidarity shown on social media, on the streets and in homes will help us all get through this awful ordeal.
So stay ‘safe’.
