You may already be enjoying the full feeling of summer, but summer officially begins on June 21st. The Brussels public transport network, MIVB/STIB, and Brussels Philharmonic will be joining forces to mark the official start of summer and share the summer vibe!
In several trams and metros, you will enjoy high-quality live music on Wednesday afternoon, performed by the musicians of Brussels Philharmonic. The orchestra will conclude with a free concert at 16:00 in Rogier metro station near the KIOSK sales outlet.
The musicians will of course arrive by public transport and along the way, they will surprise lucky travellers with a touch of music. It will be a very exclusive event, but for those who don’t want to miss out, a slight detour in your itinerary might be worth considering. And it is all completely free!
“Kazushi Ono wants to share the open and adventurous spirit and rock-solid belief in the need for cross-fertilization between art, life and society”
Brussels Philharmonic is a symphony orchestra founded in 1935 under the auspices of the Belgian public broadcaster. It is committed to constantly innovating while maintaining full respect for the value of the past. Its goal is to keep the symphonic music of the past, present and future relevant and inspiring – for ourselves and all of society – which explains their involvement in this event at the end of the concert season.
Normally based in Studio 4 at Flagey the musical director Kazushi Ono wants to share the open and adventurous spirit and rock-solid belief in the need for cross-fertilization between art, life and society.
