The Brussels Guitar Festival, one of the leading festivals in Europe and unique of its kind, is set to open.
It features classical, Latin, contemporary, and other music performed on the guitar.
Guitar variations include solo, duo, and ensemble pieces, with orchestra, flutes, or percussion.
Features include Belgian premieres, renowned guitarists from Belgium, Spain, France, the Czech Republic, Austria, Japan, and emerging artists.
The artists include:
– the celebrated Duo Melis (Spain/Greece), comprised of virtuosos Susana Prieto and Alexios Mouzourakis, performing together for the first time in Belgium;
– the dazzling French guitarist Gaëlle Solal.
– The Austro-Cuban virtuoso and pedagogue Marco Tamayo,
– The young prodigious duo Thaïs Cosnefroy and Antoine Miralles (France, Czech Republic, Belgium)
– The Guitar Ensemble of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, conducted by Hugues Navez
– The La Chapelle Musicale de Tournai orchestra, conducted by Philippe Gérard
The Venues
The magnificent Hay Doun Cultural Centre and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels will host concerts, masterclasses, a conference, an exhibition, as well as the public finals of the international competition and the composition competition
It all takes place at the delightful Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles from 28 November to 2 December.
