No, this isn’t about a Quentin Tarantino film. This is about Django Reinhart, a legendary jazz musician and composer.
Make sure to swing on by Djangofollies, a jazz festival hosting concerts in honor of Reinhart’s birthday. The whole country is participating, with performances at 25 different venues in Brussels, Bruges, Antwerp, Charleroi and many other locations. This is the 20th anniversary of the festival.
“Jazz attracted me because in it I found a formal perfection and instrumental precision that I admire in classical music, but which popular music doesn’t have,” Reinhart said.
