Robin Hood poster causes motorway pile-up

To publicise a new musical about Robin Hood, the production company organised for large publicity banners to be placed across a number of motorways on 14 February proclaiming “Marianne, I love you.’

Although advertising on Belgian motorways is banned by law, Studio 100 put up banners on several motorways to promote its new musical ‘Robin Hood’.

Unfortunately the massive banner proved such a distraction on the E313 motorway near Ranst that it provoked a four car pile-up.

Fortunately nobody was injured in the crash but the Flanders Roads Agency have had the banners removed and is taking the TV production company Studio 100 to court over the incident which caused a motorist to become distracted provoking the pile-up.
