Travel: Corsica – Belgodère Palasca Club

Travel: Caroline Dierckx discovered Northern Corsica with Belambra Club at Belgodère Palasca.

First of all, you have to choose the best way to go to Corsica. There is a plane from Brussels or Charleroi, or a combination of the car and boat. We opted for the latter. This seems to be the easiest way to reach the Belgodère-Palasca Club in Northern Corsica, and to keep your car for greater mobility.

After crossing France, we arrived in Nice, where we spent the night before taking the boat to Ile Rousse, which takes around five hours. And there, the west coast of Corsica appeared before us – a huge reward after this long journey! What we liked was the proximity of the club and the port of Ile Rousse – just 15 minutes is enough to get to the club. In a vast preserved pine forest of a 25-hectare park, the infrastructure and the houses (there are 345) blend perfectly with the landscape. A key asset of the club is the beautiful and long sandy beach between Ile Rousse and Saint-Florent, where our eyes marvelled at the breathtaking sunsets.

Club infrastructure: A heated swimming pool of 450m2 with paddling pool which is nicely in the shade, thanks to the straw roof; very nice for toddlers. The pool is lively with its midday games but calm later in the day. Need refreshment? Go to the bar-lounge, with its superb terrace. For the sporty – there are two tennis courts, beach volleyball and a pétanque pitch.

The accommodations are very pleasant, with a fully equipped kitchenette, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a lovely private terrace. Baby kits are free, but do not forget to reserve, and bed linen is included. For a departure without any stress, we opted for the departure cleaning (a pre-paid service).

Food and discoveries: The restaurant is full of beautiful seasonal produce and also salty or sweet Corsican specialties. We enjoyed a feast every day on quality food! Belambra is also a baby-friendly restaurant.

Sports and activities: There is something for the whole family – sports tournaments, fitness with Les Mills, aperitif games… I particularly enjoyed the Yoga class on the beach facing the Mediterranean. Complete healing! The nautical base on the beach also belongs to the club.

For your children, big or small, Belambra Clubs is paradise! My 10-year-old son had a fantastic week. The assistants are ultra- competent and ultra-kind.

Excursions: We visited Ile Rousse and its market. Absolutely not to be missed from Ile Rousse is the small tourist coastal train – we discovered beautiful landscapes and some hidden sandy beaches. Magnificent! Travel to Corsica with the Belambra club experience is an excellent choice!
