Wrong home demolished by accident in Wallonia

6012

The home owner received a telephone call from the contractor who told him that his home had been pulled down.

The Walloon daily L’Avenir reports that the building contractor ordered his bulldozers to a site in Annevoie-Rouillon between Namur and Dinant. A number of homes had to be demolished, but the building contractor clearly showed too much gusto and pulled down a home too many.

The house belonged to a man who was spending some time abroad in Spain and wanted to give it to his granddaughter. The building contractor has conceded he has made a mistake and has promised to rebuild the house. He will probably have to do this at his own expense because the insurance is not likely to pay.
