Not content with simply being described as “the greatest Olympian of all time”, Michael Phelps is now taking on the fairways, bunkers and greens – a far cry from the watery lanes he’s used.

He’s at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club to take part in the Credit Suisse Gold Pro-Am, alongside last year’s champion Richie Ramsay and the President of OMEGA Stephen Urquhart.

Before teeing-off, Michael Phelps held a press conference at the golf club with international media. Describing the location of the tournament, he said, “Golf has become one of my more serious pastimes and playing on this course in the week of the OMEGA European Masters in Crans-Montana surrounded by incredible views of the Alps is definitely an experience I won’t forget. The setting is impressive and I can understand why golfers love this course so much.”

Michael Phelps joined OMEGA’s family of ambassadors in 2004 and stunned audiences around the world last summer when he claimed his 22nd Olympic medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Look out, Tiger…
