Belgian Chef is Haute Stuff

Jan Van Haute’s winning dish was pork-belly cooked in beer for 18 hours. He was completely surprised when he was announced as the winner. “This is just amazing,” Van Haute said. “I don’t have words. I almost started to cry.”

“We are very famous for our pork,” added Van Haute. “We are a very tiny country but our number one export product is pork, so, and now beer as well.”

In honour of his award winning Van Haute has been awarded a week’s holiday by the Belgium embassy.
