A Belgian teenager has clocked up a new world record ….. for clock simultaneous chess.

As reported by Focus on Belgium, Daniel Sardha, aged just 19, won a huge 40 of his 50 games, had 7 draws and lost only three games.

It says that Daniel has been a chess grandmaster since 2021, when he was 15 years old.

“But it seemed written in the stars long before that, as his father and grandfather had followed the same path before him,” says Focus on Belgium.

He was challenged,it continues, by his chess club to take on 50 chess players in two hours and win 35 games.

“The pressure was on and, according to Dardha, that’s when he thrives.

“We believe him, because he won a shocking 40 of his 50 games, had 7 draws and lost only three games.

Daniel said it was a hard effort, both physically and mentally.

“Running in circles for hours between 50 different chess boards, when every second counts: that is really exhausting,” the young grandmaster said after his record-breaking achievement.

Focus on Belgium now asks: “Is Daniel Dardha Belgium’s answer to Garry Kasparov? Only time will tell, but he sure seems to be well on his way to achieving chess greatness.”
