BRUSSELS DINING

In our latest Brussels dining reviews we go look at Costa d’Amalfi and The Brugmann.

Costa d’Amalfi
Enjoy the best of Italy in the heart of the European district. The Amalfi Coast, probably one of the most beautiful in the world, offers breathtaking landscapes. Beyond its simply exceptional geography, this beautiful part of Italy stretching below Naples, from the Sorrento Peninsula to Vietri sul Mare, surrounding the Gulf of Salerno, is also a land of high gastronomy.

This restaurant, with a bright and elegant setting, is decorated with modern and comfortable furniture – the interior volumes are distributed on different floors and can be privatized on request. Full of colour, it boasts an inspired and authentic cuisine.

A la carte, magnificent traditional preparations, sometimes little known here, are worked with great creativity. In the kitchen, the chef combines high quality produce with respect and dexterity. These succulent dishes are elegantly prepared and the Mediterranean flavours tickle the most delicate taste buds and please the eyes. An address to discover!

The Brugmann
The Brugmann gourmet restaurant is located a stone’s throw from Brugmann Square. And it is the gourmet cuisine from chef Matthias Van Eenoo, accompanied by some truly great wines, that are truly the restaurant’s talking points.

The seven-course tasting menu in which we delighted, which included such delicacies as langostino crujiente Pak choi, salsa and condimento Tailandés, Pepino, Ghoa Cress and Cilantro coulis and Tarta Tatin del Brugmann flambeada con armañac Jonagold confitada, south-western Foie Gras, Granny Smith, Tahon Cress and Salsa Madeira, was expertly complemented by a range of excellent wines that included a truly mouth-watering cabernet sauvignon from Italy and a superb Bourgogne.

And the terrace of the Brugmann gourmet restaurant is probably the most beautiful in Brussels. In the heart of an island of greenery, near the Abbé Froidure park which was once the garden of the Brugmann hotel, you feel in the countryside in the city.  A dining experience that ranks with the very best of Brussels.
