This time the building’s post office was attacked by two masked gunmen, one reportedly carrying a firearm.
Deputies are furious about the break in as it follows two others at the ING bank, in 2009, in the Spinelli building and also the staff canteen last May.
UK Liberal MEP, Fiona Hall, (pictured left) was confronted by the robbers when she went to go to buy some stamps. “For an armed robbery to happen – again – inside the European parliament means that the security system here is a complete farce,” reports Parliament magazine.
However, Bill Newton Dunn, one of the Parliament’s quaestors and a senior MEP, said he had, “full confidence in the head of security”.
