The market is made up of 500 shops that exhibit antiques every day, from 6am to 2pm and 3pm at the weekend.
For twenty five years it has been the world’s only antiques and flea market that is open every day. Another attraction is that local musicians play in the background while people shop for rarities. The choice of items can be overwhelming although the knowledgeable antique dealers will answer any questions asked by potential clients as they wind there way through the aisles of historic gems.
Shoppers should not be too shy to haggle, as dealers believe negotiation is part of the game. The Vieux Marche is a more than just a cluster of vendors though as it is rather a community of people who have been committed to their trade and artistry.
