RADISSON RED BRUSSELS

Radisson RED Brussels hotel never rests on its laurels.

When hotels go green
You don’t need to look far to find great examples of eco-friendly hotels that have already embraced more sustainable practices. Radisson RED Brussels hotel can be mentioned as an example demonstrating the sector’s willingness to move towards energy savings, waste reductions and community-supportive actions.

Eco-friendly technologies
In 2016, Radisson RED Brussels was the very first hotel in Belgium to invest in a Tesla Powerwall Battery, a revolutionary device that charges using the renewable power generated by the 20 solar panels installed on the hotel’s roof. It allows the hotel to reduce the property’s electrical usage by providing the necessary energy to fuel the ‘digital wall’ and lights in the hotel’s lobby. On top of this, the SportsArt equipment integrated into the gym offer cycles and ellipticals that convert the power generated by exercise into utility-grade electricity put back into the grid or used to charge your cell phone!

Recycling– reusing – reducing
Here, all guest rooms feature Bolon carpets made from recycled plastic materials and refillable dispensers for bath products that contribute to spare the use of individual packaging. Naturally, the hotel’s OUIBar + KTCHN restaurant banned the use of plastic straws.

Since the property is aiming towards a 100% paperless policy, all useful information can be found on the TV screen, a sticker on the room’s door or on the Radisson RED app. The same principle applies to meeting facilities where extra-large dry-erase walls offer a smart alternative to flip-charts.

RADISSON RED BRUSSELS Team’s involvement
In the case of Radisson RED Brussels, all departments contribute to make a difference. You can skip a daily room cleaning to get a value voucher in return or choose to donate the same amount for a good cause. The OUIBar’s team invites you to buy a ‘suspended coffee’ for people who can’t afford one and uses the ‘too good to go’ app to avoid food waste. Finally, Meeting and Events partner with ‘Les Filles, plaisirs culinaires’ famous cooks to promote catering buffets made with fresh local and seasonal ingredients.

Save the date! Swap Party event coming soon

On June 27th, 2019, Radisson RED Brussels will hold its annual charity ‘Swap Party’, a type of ‘swap meet’ where participants exchange their valued but no longer used clothing, books and vinyls for ones that are ‘new to them’. The event is combined with a festive afterwork at the OUIBar + KTCHN.

Stay tuned with the charity Swap Party and many other events held at Radisson RED Brussels (yoga classes, parties, afterworks…) via their Facebook page @radissonredbrussels!
