Reconnecting with nature…. in Brussels

76

Fancy “reconnecting with the natural rhythm of life”?

If so, an upcoming event in Brussels could be just up your street.

The idea is that this is done through what the organisers call “mindful yoga, biodynamic wines and poetic art.”

It all starts with a yoga session, followed by a (healthy) lunch followed by much else, including tea and wine tasting.

The pair behind “Clos Monicord” are Audrey Bakx and Joep Bakx, a father and daughter team.

This pop-up celebration of all things healthy is open to the public and brings together wellness, creativity, and conviviality.

Says Audrey: “Taste, move, and discover how the elements of nature – earth, water, air, and spirit – come together in harmony.”

Audrey and Joep cultivate a family wine estate with a shared passion for mindful farming, creativity and respect for nature.

Based in Bordeaux, Audrey is both a visual artist and Demeter-certified winemaker.

A globetrotter at heart, she creates drawings, wine labels, installations and artistic concepts for clients in the wine, gastronomy and hospitality world. Her work draws inspiration from nature, human behaviour and biodynamic practices, which she translates into fine, abstract and often ephemeral drawings, as well as paintings, sculptures and installations.

It all takes place at Rue Saint Quentin 29, B-1000 Brussels.

At 10am there is a gentle morning practice to open the body and settle the mind with Oriane Gidron.

At 11am there is ceremonial Matcha Tasting . A real Japanese matcha tasting inviting focus and calm with Yoshi Matsumoto from Azumaya Tea.

A gathering around wines & seasonal bites for lunch follows  while, at 3pm, there are wine talks & tasting around Clos Monicord’s biodynamic wines.

From 5pm to 7pm, you get the chance to meet Audrey and her dad and explore limited-edition prints, artworks and merchandise.

Some charges may apply.

Parking: On the street, in the neighbourhood, Interparking Arts-Loi within walking distance.

Public transportation: Ambiorix by bus (56, 60, 63 & 64) – Schuman by bus (12, 36, 56, 60 & 79); by metro (1 & 5) – Maelbeek by bus (59 & 64); by metro (1 & 5)
