Tymoshenko, leader of the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Association Party, is facing a criminal investigation over voter fraud had to apply to the Prosecutor General’s office for permission to travel. She denies the charges and in February said of the case ‘I have as a presidential candidate come up against a machine, which operates on principles far from the rule of law.’
‘It is clear . . . they (judges in Ukraine’s high administrative court) want to whitewash this (vote) falsification, and act as if it was legal.’
‘We do not see the need of a continuing with this court case, we will withdraw our suit,’ she added.
She has also made a request also to travel to Lithuania this June to participate in the international forum, “The Best Experience of Strengthening Democracy”.
