In our latest Brussels events article we give the lowdown on what’s coming at Brussels events.
September is pretty much the month that represents the beginning of the school year for (almost) everyone. Who says back to school says new program. Between workshops, talks and exhibitions, here are the activities to remember!
The exhibition Chaise. Stoel. Chair. Defining Design has been extended until September 19, 2021. Discover without further delay a selection of 100 chairs that traces the history of this object. 99 chairs are visible in the museum. For the 100th, it’s up to you to choose. Vote via the platform specially created for the occasion: pollunit.com/polls/iconofthefuture.
From September 1st, the Design Museum Brussels will resume its adapted opening hours. The museum will be open from Friday to Monday included from 11am to 7pm.
Autosketch
10.09.2021 > 26.09.2021
The Design Museum Brussels gives carte blanche to Justin Lalieux’s graphic universe. He presents a selection of automatic drawings: on the phone, in meetings, at the restaurant, the designer draws all the time, “often without thinking about it” in order to improve his concentration. Always with the object in the center, he explores with his black pencil Muji 0.5 (of which he always has a copy in his pocket) his obsessions for the moustache, cosmonauts or Spider-Man. Combining sketches, storyboards and scenarios, Autosketch immerses us in the stylistic and graphic environment of Justin Lalieux.
On 16.09.2021 at 7pm, Justin Lalieux will also give a lecture on the place of drawing in the creative process and its dialogue with the new computer-assisted design tools.
Teacher’s day
15.09.2021 – 2PM-5PM
On Wednesday, September 15, the Design Museum Brussels invites you to take part in the information sessions that the museum offers to discover its exhibitions and programming. At Design Museum Brussels, we are passionate about design, its history and its impact on our daily lives. It is this interest that we want to share with you in a participative, educational and interactive way. We therefore propose to explore the educational wealth of the museum through a visit of our collections. We will also take the time to discuss the most appropriate educational formula for your next visit.
