London is calling as the second most sung-about city in music! From The Clash and David Bowie to Taylor Swift and Fergie, the city’s cultural significance has been a source of inspiration for all types of genres as the UK’s capital is featured in 2,256 songs.
Rome makes the top 3 cities most mentioned in music. One of the world’s biggest artistic centres, Italy’s capital is featured in 1,266 songs. Following behind is Berlin in fourth place with 1,054 songs referencing the capital of Germany. From the bottom to the top of the list, we find Brussels in 15th place. The capital of Belgium is mentioned in 97 of the songs analysed in the study. Just ahead in 14th place is Dublin, with 179 songs featuring the capital of Ireland.
